Activities and Events

To promote the prevention and control of diabetes and related chronic diseases in human beings by disseminating evidence-based medical and scientific research, providing evidence-based counselling and community education, and raising public awareness to support early detection, lifestyle change, and effective self-management.

Our Main Activities

SA Health Government Collaboration

Purpose

Establish formal referral pathways and collaborative programs with SA Health, Primary Health Networks (PHN), and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) for diabetes and pre-diabetes patient support.

Community Education Workshops

Purpose

Deliver weekly, interactive diabetes prevention workshops across Adelaide suburbs and selected regional SA locations, tailored to culturally diverse and high-risk populations.

School Health Literacy Program

Purpose

Deliver evidence-based health literacy education in SA schools, targeting youth Type 2 diabetes prevention through nutritional awareness and healthy lifestyle habits.

Support for Faith Community

Purpose

Deliver culturally and spiritually adapted diabetes education and peer support within faith communities in Adelaide, reaching populations with elevated risk and lower engagement with mainstream health services.
